The members of SLAYER could not join the July 2 "Am I Evil?" (DIAMOND HEAD) jam at the "Big Four" show in Gelsenkirchen, Germany due to their travel arrangements to get to the next concert. They also missed the following night's performance of "Helpless" (DIAMOND HEAD) in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Commented the band: "We are very happy with how 'Neutralize The Threat' came out. Musically, it resembles the song structures on 'To The Death', but with a 'Gomorah's Season Ends' vibe thrown in. Every song is lyrically inspired by real-life vigilante actions that have taken place around the globe. The topics range from The Black Panther party to Bernard Goetz and we think it's an original lyrical concept for the band, while also retaining some subject matter we are known for dealing with in the past. Zeuss is the man and definitely delivered the best sounding record we have ever had! We can't wait for you guys to hear it!"
EARTH CRISIS' chugging riffs and barked declarations served as the mouthpiece of America's militant vegan, straight-edge movement throughout the '90s, detailing the ideas of animal and human liberation, drug-free living and personal empowerment through hardcore music. The group has continued along this path of breaking new ground, constantly working and reaching more people spreading their message to the masses.
After a lengthy hiatus, the band reformed in 2008 to the delight of the hardcore genre. They soon produced the vicious offering "To The Death" that undoubtedly proved that they have never been stronger from both songwriting and musicianship perspectives.
According to TheChronicleHerald.ca, the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada is threatening to deny municipal services for METALLICA's July 14 concert on the Garrison Grounds unless promoter Harold MacKay repays approximately CAD $360,000 to the city.

Madonna told Elle magazine that her song “Miles Away” was inspired by her relationship with her now ex-husband Guy Ritchie. At a concert, she once dedicated it to the “emotionally retarded.” It doesn’t get much more direct than that!
A short teaser for "Nightmare", the new video from Southern California's AVENGED SEVENFOLD, can be viewed below. The clip was helmed by Wayne Isham, who has previously directed videos for such established artists as METALLICA, MÖTLEY CRÜE, SIMPLE PLAN, PANTERA, 'N SYNC, SHANIA TWAIN, GODSMACK, BRITNEY SPEARS, LEONA LEWIS, PINK FLOYD, SHERYL CROW, JOSS STONE, MADONNA, AVRIL LAVIGNE, DEF LEPPARD and BON JOVI.
Ludacris and DJ Khaled closed the show with a high-energy performance of "My Chick Bad" followed by beats from an asylum-straight-jacket-bound Nicki Minaj. Bringing a rock-fueled edge to the final song of the night with Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, T-Pain and Diddy on "All I Do Is Win" was Lee backed by a drumline.
Video footage of the performance can be viewed below.
Lee and Ludacris arguably became reality television's oddest couple when they participated together in Discovery Network's Planet Green popular "Battleground Earth" eco-centric series.
Members of SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX joined METALLICA on stage earlier tonight (Tuesday, June 22) in Sofia, Bulgaria to perform the DIAMOND HEAD classic "Am I Evil?"
The List recently conducted an interview with legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES). A couple of excerpts from the chat follow below.
The List: How did you first get into rock music?
Slash: It's funny you should ask me that because I was thinking along those lines about ten minutes ago. I think when I was a kid, and I was in England and it was all about THE [ROLLING] STONES, THE WHO, THE KINKS and THE BEATLES and that's what my dad was into. My dad was a real rebel tearaway art student, one of those kids, that whole generation. And that's what I was raised on in England, but when I moved to the states it was about THE DOORS and LED ZEPPELIN and everything else that was going on. We had a really vast music collection and I was raised around rock 'n' roll, it's just the way it was. So when I got to be about 13 or 14, I started listening — even though my parents music was way cool — to contemporary hard rock at that time, which was AEROSMITH, CHEAP TRICK, BLACK SABBATH, AC/DC, TED NUGENT and all that, and that's just where I came from. I always loved rock guitar. I just never put it together that that's what I'd end up doing. I had no aspirations to be a musician, but I picked up a guitar for two seconds and haven't put it down since.
The List: What do you think it is that makes you so unique as a guitarist?
Slash: I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm not really sure how I got to the place where I'm at. I have my moments as a player — that definitely translate emotionally — that really come from a sincere place, and maybe people pick up on that, or maybe it's just the riffs, I don't know. But it's been sort of cool to be recognized as a decent guitar player. That's one of the things that I've always wanted to be able to do, to be at the top of my game, for me personally, just to be getting better as a guitar player, being able to communicate with the guitar better and better as I go, and I think that's started to work a little bit. In other words, I have no fucking clue.
The List: How different is it touring now you are clean and sober?
Slash: When it came to touring, it wasn't really about the drugs. I was never much of a druggie on the road — that was always at home when I was off the road I would fall into the abyss through boredom — but on tour it was really about booze, and I just burnt out on drinking 24 hours a day for the last 35 years, so I don't really miss it. Everything's really the same. I still party all the time and hang out with everyone who drinks, but I just don't personally, and don't really have the desire to get blitzed drunk any more. But nothing really seems odd to me. I think the focus for me is all about music at this point, so I'm happy to be in that place where I'm just looking forward to playing and just hanging out.
The List: What's the current status of GUNS N' ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER?
Slash: VELVET REVOLVER's just on stand-by. I've got this tour to do, so when I get done with this I want to get back in earnest to try and figure out who'll do the singing chores with that band and make another record. With GUNS N' ROSES, the status is the same now as in 1996 — really, there hasn't been any change.
Fan-filmed video footage of GUNS N' ROSES' June 12, 2010 performance at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg in southern Sweden can be viewed below.

According to Roadrunner Records, Australian hard rockers AIRBOURNE have a reputation for putting on a killer live show. Their passion for rock and roll shines through as they barrel through their songs with energy and enthusiasm, chugging beers (even smashing the cans on their heads on occasion) and jumping from the stage to play in the crowd.
At festivals, AIRBOURNE frontman Joel O'Keeffe has also been known to climb the rigging, and at this year's Download festival — which was held June 11-13, 2010 at Donington Park, United Kingdom — he went a little further than normal, causing the stage manager to race across stage and pull the power on the band until Joel returned to the ground.
Check out the fan footage of the entire escapade in the YouTube clips below.
Ozzy Osbourne's new album
Ozzy Osbourne's new album is now streaming online in its entirety at the Prince of Darkness' MySpace page. Titled "Scream", the record is due out next Tuesday (June 22) and follows up Ozzy's 2007 effort, "Black Rain". The Ozz told The Pulse of Radio he didn't really have a plan in mind when he went into the studio this time. "I didn't go, like, 'I want it to be this, I want it to be that,' you know," he said. "It was just, Kevin Churko, my producer, me and him did most of the work in the studio and the band played on (it) as we laid the tracks down, because I wasn't in that much of a hurry to get in the studio and do an album. I mean, Kevin, he got the ideas and we built it from there."
